All Aboard the Coast Starlight for a "23 Hour" overnight train from Eugene, OR. to San Louis Obispo, CA. Oct 2/3, 2008
   I hadn't rode a train for a long time and never a trip like this - I was like a kid filled with joy. I didn't even take any pictures till the next morning when we were down to the CA Bay area. Let me tell you trying to sleep in coach is next to impossible unless you are used to it or young. I even moved my seat several times trying to find a cushion that didn't "bottom out" every time I sat down - no luck - my butt was so sore after this trip let me tell you. So when ever the train stopped and we could get off and stretch, I took advantage of it. I learned after watching other people that the only time your in your seat is when you sleep the rest of the time is spent in the observation car - course I kept starting up conversations with travelers and forgetting to take pictures.

I didn't take as many pics, I was busy visiting and sleeping as well as one can in coach. At night as you walk the isles of coach every other person had either a lap top watching a movie/videos or wireless online, then there were portable DVD players here and there and ipod's aplenty. Me, I had my CD player.

October fun days slide into November as the vegetation changes and storms move in, a new president is elected and the world is heading into a deep recession with more wars. A revolution is slowly building - a whole new world will be born.
